{ Higher Ed, Lab Architecture, Life Sciences, Nanoscience, Physical Sciences, Quantum }

LAB/LSA was engaged by the University of Chicago to provide a detailed planning and programming study for a New Engineering and Science Building to be a focal point for the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering and the Chicago Quantum Exchange. Involving workshops with over 30 PI Groups, the study included a conceptual building design that was used to establish the project budget. LAB/LSA is serving as Specialty Lab Consultant to the University for the duration of design.

Optics Lab: Designed for high precision measurement, the lab features tight control for temperature & humidity, acoustics, electromagnetic interference, and vibration. These labs are intended to be magnet-free.
Cryo Lab: Designed for high precision, low temperature measurement, the lab features tight control for temperature & humidity, acoustics, electromagnetic interference, and vibration. These labs are intended to use high power magnets in dilution refrigerators.
AMO Lab: Designed for high precision, low temperature measurement, the lab features tight control for temperature & humidity, acoustics, electromagnetic interference, and vibration. These labs are intended as a hybrid of the Optics and Cryo labs.
Designed for immunology and biology bench research, the lab features moveable casework, overhead utilities with quick connections, high sink density, customizable side rooms for tissue culture, freezers and refrigerators, animal holding, and specific research projects.
Chemistry Lab: Designed for synthetic and polymer bench research, the lab features moveable casework, overhead utilities with quick connections, high fume hood density, customizable side rooms for specific research projects.
