Quantum Computing Lab MDCC Lyngby Denmark
Quantum computing presents unprecedented possibilities to solve society’s most complex challenges. Microsoft is committed to responsibly turning these possibilities into reality—for the betterment of humanity and the planet. Microsoft engaged LAB to build out their laboratories across continents and in collaboration with world class universities to better calibrate their research results. Their research spans multiple disciplines from condensed matter physics, applied physics, material sciences, electrical engineering, computer science and mathematics. In Lyngby, Denmark, a new material sciences lab housing Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and characterization with suites of dilution refrigerators operating at milli-kelvins above absolute zero provide a platform for creating some of the most exotic superconducting materials on earth. This lab works in conjunction with basic research in condensed matter physics at the Niels /Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen.
