The Big Small Firm

May 1, 2011

When Mark and I decided to form our own practice, we thought about what we wanted to be. We wanted to continue the very hands-on design that inspired us to become architects in the first place. We also wanted to work on a wide range of project scales — from small fit-outs to larger renovations and new construction. Hence the idea of the big small firm, one that looks to partnerships instead of growth to handle a wide range of project sizes. We are excited about this model because it allows us to fulfill our goal of remaining agile. The firm’s strength lies both in our own work and in the collaborations we establish in the design community.
