The University of Chicago
Alivisatos Lab
When selected as the University of Chicago’s new president, Professor Paul Alivisatos needed a new laboratory to accommodate his research and team moving from UC Berkeley to U Chicago . The Gordon Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences (GCIS) and the Searle Chemistry lab were identified as ideal locations to house chemical fume hoods, glove boxes, optical tables, analytical equipment and a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). Successfully completed, the lab provides the opportunity for student researchers to make significant advances in the understanding of nanocrystals and quantum dots.
